Since the summer is winding down and I’m healing from a knee injury, I’ve found myself with some unplanned free time. One project that I have in mind is to better understand our current food policy landscape. In my initial research I came across an interesting infographic that inspired today’s post – Plant the Plate.

I have always voted but I had not made a phone call, attended a protest, or visited elected officials offices until recently. It has been empowering! I know that I need more information to understand how to best to advocate for affordable healthy food for all, living wages for farm workers, and healthy soil. So I’ve begun to make a reading list and find out who is already doing work in this arena.
