How do we turn our field into an inviting home for the 1,500+ transplants we’ve started in the greenhouse? Our field had a ryegrass cover crop over the winter. Ryegrass is great for cartwheels [see above], soil erosion protection, winter-long photosynthesis, nitrogen scavenging, and weed suppression. I’m so excited to introduce you all to Songbird Haven Farm! We’re launching our farm with a 10-12 person farm share (i.e., community supported agriculture program or CSA) and on-farm events like u-pick days, workshops, and other fun excuses to join us out in Woodinville.
